A Review of Classical and Novel Shape-Memory Materials for Biomedical Applications
Through the Harvard OpenBio Laboratory Student Research Institute Program, I collaborated with Eliana Feygin from MIT DMSE and Harvard professors to conduct a comprehensive review of shape-memory materials for biomedical applications. Our project, which achieved top-three recognition from 35 students in the Literature Review Section and is set to be published in The Young Researcher Journal, explored both classical and novel materials' properties and applications. This was a prestigious program, with only 70 of 1800 applicants being selected, making it highly selective with an acceptance rate of 3.8%
MY PORTFOLIO
Here, you can find more detailed work of specific projects I have completed, further expanding on my experiences above.
Assessing KRAS G12C Essentiality and Co-Mutation Effects through Structural, Biochemical, and Computational Analysis
At Kenneth Westover, MD, Ph.D.'s Lab at the Radiation Oncology Department at UTSW, I characterized oncogenic KRAS mutants, developed RAS complex models, and analyzed mutation impacts on protein dynamics. I optimized in-lab arrays to improve transfection efficiency, revealing key interactions between KRAS mutants and RAF. Additionally, I analyzed CRISPR knockout screens to evaluate KRAS G12C essentiality in co-mutated cell lines, generating volcano plots for comparative analysis. My findings are contributing to an upcoming research paper, and I received credits for this work.
